Q.1.  What does AutoRec do?   

A.  AutoRec reads handwritten documents and OMR sheets. AutoRec can also read barcodes and crop image fields from a document.
Besides this, AutoRec can read machine print also. The sheets need to be structured as per the requirement of ICR/OMR technology.
AutoRec makes typing unnecessary whereby a great deal of time can be saved. Hundreds of thousands of documents can be read at phenomenally high speeds. Single user versions of AutoRec can handle a few hundred to a few thousand forms per day. AutoRec can also read semi structured forms which might not be fully satisfying the requirements of the ICR technology.

Q. 2. How does AutoRec work?

A. Paper documents are first scanned and scanned images are read by the software.
    Recognized text is proofread for mistakes and then sent   to the database.

Q. 3. Can AutoRec read a letter which I have written to my friend?

A. Recognition technology has not yet matured enough to be able to effectively read flowing handwriting where letters are connected to each
    other. In ICR forms each letter or numeral needs to be entered in a small rectangular box.

Q. 4. How is AutoRec different from an OMR scanner?

A. OMR scanner can only read marks and  is blind to the handwritten fields in the document. While as AutoRec can read OMR marks and
    handwriting at the same time. AutoRec preserves the images of the documents  which an OMR scanner can’t do. OMR scanners are
    extremely costly and require a great deal of maintenance.

Q. 5. What sort of scanner has to be used with AutoRec?

A. Any scanner with ‘colour drop out’ feature using TWAIN protocol can be used.

Q. 6.  What is the accuracy of AutoRec?

A. AutoRec is 100% accurate for OMR sheets. It’s accuracy for handwritten documents is 98% according to benchmarking done at PTUCET.


Q.7. Can more than one scanners be attached to the software?

A. Yes, multiple scanning stations, recognition stations and proofreading stations can be set up in a network.

Q.8.  If we change the design of the ICR form, shall we have to depend on your programmers?

A. You are free to design any number of templates in the Designing Module of the software. Your dependence on the programmers is nil
     because of this facility.

Q.9. Who will design the ICR form for us?

A. Fil Flan shall design the form for you free of cost. Any DTP operator can undertake this work at almost a negligible cost.

Q. 10. Who will procure the scanner for us?

A. Fil Flan gives you the choice of purchasing the scanner yourself or procuring it through us. If you want to purchase it yourself, assistance will be rendered in accessing the vendors.

Q. 11. What are the various versions of AutoRec available?
A.

  • AutoRec is available in the following versions,
  • AutoRec Uno- For a single user
  • AutoRec Enterprise – For multiple users across a LAN
  • AutoRec Enterprise-WAN- In this version various operations like scanning,
    recognizing and proofreading can be distributed across the various parts of the globe.
  • AutoRec-CPS- Is a cheque processing system used by banks.
  • AutoRec-IRIS- Is an Indexing, Retrieval, ICR system used by banks for Draft recognition.

Q. 12. What are the security features in AutoRec?

A.  Foolproof security at software and hardware levels  is provided. Role based rights ensure smooth functioning of the software. On the
     hardware side a Dongle affords the administrator to exercise complete control over the software. Audit trailing is employed to take care of  
     any frauds. Data is encrypted in WAN versions to make it hacker proof.

Q.13. In what colour can we design our ICR forms?

A. ICR forms can be designed in Red, Green, Yellow, Pink and many other colours.

Q. 14. How is your technical support?

A. Our technical support team is highly trained and expert at suggesting quick solutions. Support over phone and email is available free
     between 10 AM and 6 PM. In selected cases support can be provided for 12 hours a day. User manuals render the dependency on the
     technical team almost redundant. The software as such does not require any considerable support once it gets going. Onsite support is
     available free of cost during the first year of the purchase of software or hardware.
